Building Layers Of Color

Discover how to build layers of paint in watercolor, oils, water-mixable oils or acrylics. Using a soft brush technique or palette knife, we will build the colors we want and see them sparkle. In the morning, we will do quick studies to experiment with this technique, which has been used by artists throughout the ages, from Rembrandt to Maynard Dixon. In the afternoon, paint indoors or out and develop a larger painting using a layering process. Joan will demonstrate techniques and offer insightful critiques to build confidence while you paint.
