Parade and museum

Editor: It is time to build support for our annual Veterans Day Parade.

The parade has grown threefold in the past six years. There will be planes and helicopters flying overhead. Our grand marshal will be Gen. Richard Hearney, Petaluma's own. A veterans art exhibit will be in the corner of Walnut Park. An original song will be played and sung at the gazebo after the parade.

The art exhibit is compliments of the Petaluma Museum. Our museum has been very supportive of the veterans, many who gave their all. Remember the Vietnam exhibit last year? It was extremely successful and brought many veterans back to society. It erased the stigma many held because of the war's politics. 2012 brings an honor to the code talkers of World War II and an exhibit for the Korean Veterans and the Forgotten War. There may even be an enigma machine at the museum. It broke the codes of World War II.

Along with the parade, we need to support the Petaluma Museum.
