Cars are broken into and electronics stolen, police say

Four incidences of burglary have occurred in the last three weeks in the Washington Square Shopping Center on North McDowell, say Petaluma police.

Each vehicle has been parked in front of Safeway and has had a window smashed and an electronic device stolen from it.

The latest incident happened Thursday, Oct. 20 at about 6 p.m. Once again, a window was smashed and an iPhone stolen, according the the press release issued by the police department.

Police encourage drivers not to store valuables in plain view. They also ask that people report anyone they see peering into cars or trying to gain access to them.
